Interiors: Australian river house

cottage1 This past Thursday I featured a photo of a cottage room with distressed wood and slanted ceilings that I was absolutely in love with (photo above on left). Today, I'm showing you the Australian home that it belongs to - a stunning, dreamy, and enchanting getaway for those looking for solitude, privacy, and nature. It's called "The River House" and was featured in Queensland Homes as well as in the 2012 Annual Gold Edition of Queensland Homes (p.36). It's set on over 100 acres of natural rainforest and surrounding nature, even close to its own waterhole/river! The home has an open, breezy design that focuses on letting nature in. Queensland Homes describes it perfectly: "...a mix of Moroccan, Indian, Persian, baroque, vintage, rustic and tropical styles may seem like an unlikely match but [the owner] has made it work perfectly – romantic, exotic, light and airy, it has a luxe-hippy vibe with just the right amount of quirkiness." Such an ideal place for a summer getaway - and if you're planning a trip to Australia, check with Unique Estates to see if holiday rentals are still available for this beautiful place! . . .
