Be inspired: Small town love
It was a pretty productive weekend for me and I've got a lot to share with you this week! It's no surprise how much I've been wanting to re-connect with nature and go exploring, and I got the chance to do that this weekend! More about that later...
The best thing I love about living in the Northeast is the accessibility to all the surrounding small towns. I had never experienced mainland "small towns" growing up on an island and it was always a dream of mine to experience and maybe live in a quaint small town similar to ones that I saw on all the popular television shows and movies (you know, Gilmore Girls, Dawson's Creek, Hocus Pocus...am I the only one whose seen those?). Okay, so there's obviously not a whole lot to do in small towns, but I love visiting as much as I can whether it's getting out of the city for just a day trip or a weekend affair. It's reinvigorating, and just plain good for the soul, especially when you're surrounded by big city air and buildings most of the time. This past weekend we went to New Paltz, New York, about an hour and a half upstate where we spent the day hiking the gorgeous Mohonk preserve and exploring this seriously lovely little town! We came across tiny, quaint bookstores, stoop shops, a gluten-free bakery and delicious gf pasta, and the cutest little kitty! . . .
